Who Is This Keyboard For?
The Yamaha PSR-E583 is ideal for players who want a portable keyboard with enough depth for serious home use, songwriting and live performance.
Its touch-sensitive keyboard makes it accessible to developing players, but the addition of Pitch Bend, Modulation, Live Control Knobs, DSP effects, sampling and looping gives more experienced musicians much greater control over how they shape and perform their sounds.
It is particularly well suited to musicians who want an all-in-one instrument that can handle accompaniment, arranging, vocal performance and live amplification without moving into a much more expensive professional workstation.
A Huge Range Of Sounds & Styles
The PSR-E583 includes 890 voices covering pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, guitars, synths, percussion and many other instruments.
Among these are 19 Super Articulation Lite voices, designed to reproduce some of the characteristic playing techniques of acoustic instruments for a more expressive and realistic result.
There are also 345 accompaniment styles covering a wide range of musical genres. These respond to the chords you play and provide instant backing arrangements for practice, songwriting and performance.
Auto Chord Play can automatically reproduce chord progressions while you focus on melody, improvisation or experimenting with different sounds. Yamaha’s current specification lists 100 preset chord progressions plus 10 user progressions.
Hands-On Performance Control
The PSR-E583 gives players a strong set of real-time controls for shaping performances.
Two assignable Live Control Knobs can alter sound characteristics while you play, while the Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels provide additional expressive control.
Motion Effects allow instant access to moving effects such as phasing and tremolo, while the extensive DSP section includes 41 DSP1 and 12 DSP2 effect types for further tone shaping and creative sound design.
Four registration buttons across eight banks allow favourite combinations of sounds and settings to be stored for quick recall.
Sampling, Looping & Recording
Quick Sampling allows short sounds or phrases to be captured from several sources, including the AUX input, microphone input, USB audio interface or WAV files.
The built-in Looper lets you record and repeat musical ideas, chord sequences or phrases while building additional parts over the top.
The PSR-E583 can also record up to 10 songs with six tracks – five melody tracks plus one Style track – while the USB Audio Recorder can capture performances as WAV files to a compatible USB flash drive.
Powerful Sound For Home & Performance
One of the biggest advantages of the PSR-E583 over the E483 is its significantly stronger built-in sound system.
The 12W + 12W amplification drives two 12cm speakers, giving the E583 greater volume and presence for home playing, rehearsal and small performance situations.
Mega Boost provides additional output when required, while dedicated stereo outputs allow straightforward connection to external amplification or a PA system.
Ready For Vocals, Recording & Live Use
A dedicated microphone input allows you to connect a compatible microphone and sing while playing, while the AUX input can be used with an external audio source.
USB-to-Host uses USB Type-C and supports MIDI and digital audio, while USB-to-Device allows direct connection of compatible USB flash drives.
The PSR-E583 also supports an expression pedal, giving performers another level of hands-free control over volume and expression.
