The P-525 is equipped with the highly responsive GrandTouch-S™ keyboard—the same mechanism used in Yamaha’s premium Clavinova digital pianos. Acoustic grand pianos produce sound through the intricate interaction of numerous components—hammers connected to keys strike strings inside a wooden case, which amplifies the sound. This complex mechanism, perfected over centuries, does not exist in digital pianos. Yamaha applies its proprietary technology to replicate the grand piano’s sound in digital instruments. Grand Expression Modeling digitally captures subtle tonal variations by precisely detecting differences in the speed and force of your playing. Meanwhile, Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) recreates the rich resonance produced by the strings, dampers, body, and duplex scaling of a grand piano, responding dynamically to every touch on the keyboard.

From the attack and distinctive tone of an organ with its Leslie speaker, to the reverb, distortion, and signature effects of the electric pianos that shaped 70s and 80s pop music, these Voices deliver a realistic, immersive experience that makes you feel as though you are truly playing the original instruments.

BUILT-IN FEATURES DESIGNED FOR SEAMLESS PERFORMANCE

The P-525 includes a Registration Memory function that lets you save and recall your settings—ideal for live performances in cafés, bars, and other small venues. You can program Voices and Rhythms at home and quickly access them when performing. Switching between Voices mid-song is also effortless. Additional features like Sound Boost and adjustable EQ ensure your piano can be clearly heard alongside other instruments in a band setting.

RICH, CLEAR, AND NATURALLY RESONANT SOUND

The P-525’s two-way speakers deliver a full range of sound, from deep bass to delicate treble, with exceptional clarity and no distortion. The speakers are angled slightly toward the bench, immersing you in rich, pleasing tones as you play. The speaker boxes have also been upgraded with flared bass reflex ports and proprietary sound-absorbing tubes, reducing wind, vibration, and other unwanted noise for a cleaner, higher-quality sound.

Additionally, the P-525 is the first digital piano to feature an FIR filter, which fine-tunes the phase of the sound so that listeners in the same room experience a naturally balanced and pleasing audio presentation.

EASILY ACCESS ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT’S FEATURES

By connecting the P-525 to Yamaha’s dedicated Smart Pianist app, you can easily control all functions directly from your smart device—no need to consult the manual.

The P-525 also features built-in Bluetooth® audio, allowing you to stream music wirelessly from a Bluetooth®-enabled smartphone or tablet through the piano’s speakers. You can even play along with your favorite tracks. In addition, Bluetooth® MIDI lets you use the Smart Pianist app over a wireless connection for convenient, cable-free control.

For a more authentic acoustic piano experience with your P-525, Yamaha offers the optional L-515 stand and LP-1 three-pedal unit, which includes a damper pedal with half-pedaling functionality, just like a grand piano. Additional options include the FC35 three-pedal unit (featuring a damper pedal compatible with half-pedaling) and the included FC3A sustain pedal, also compatible with half-pedaling.
