76 Graded Soft Touch Keys for a More Piano-Like Feel

The NP-35 features 76 box-style keys with Yamaha's Graded Soft Touch action, offering a playing experience inspired by an acoustic piano while remaining comfortable and accessible.

The keys have a slightly heavier feel in the lower register and a lighter touch towards the higher notes, helping players become familiar with the natural response of a piano keyboard.

With 76 keys rather than the 61 found on the smaller NP-15, there's additional room for two-handed playing, more advanced arrangements and developing piano technique.

Four adjustable touch-response settings allow you to tailor the keyboard to your playing style.

Expressive Yamaha Concert Grand Piano Sound

At the heart of the NP-35 is Yamaha's sampled CFIIIS concert grand piano sound, offering clear, detailed treble notes and a rich, resonant bass response.

AWM Stereo Sampling technology captures the musical character of an acoustic piano, while Damper Resonance adds further depth and realism when using the sustain function.

With 15 instrument Voices to choose from, you can also explore other keyboard sounds and musical textures without complicated controls.

Simple Controls with Creative Possibilities

The Piaggero range is designed to keep the focus on playing music rather than navigating complex menus.

The NP-35 offers six reverb types to add depth and ambience, while Sound Boost helps provide greater presence when needed.

You can also use the Dual/Layer function to combine two instrument sounds for richer performances.

A built-in metronome, 15 Voice Demo Songs and 10 preset Piano Songs provide useful inspiration for practice and enjoyment.

Connect with Yamaha Smart Pianist

The Yamaha NP-35 is compatible with the Smart Pianist app, providing an intuitive way to access instrument controls through a compatible smart device.

Smart Pianist can also display musical scores, offering useful additional functionality for players developing their reading and performance skills.

USB-to-Host connectivity supports both MIDI and audio, making it possible to connect the NP-35 to compatible computers and music software.

Yamaha's Rec'n'Share app also allows you to record performances with audio and video using a compatible smart device, making it easy to capture and share your music.

More Sound, More Keys, Still Portable

Despite its extended 76-key range, the Yamaha NP-35 weighs approximately 6kg, making it practical for home use, lessons and occasional travel.

Its compact design is particularly useful for players who want additional keyboard range without accommodating a full-sized digital piano.

Compared with the smaller NP-15, the NP-35 also features a more powerful 6W × 2 amplification system, delivering greater volume and a fuller sound through its built-in stereo speakers.

The keyboard can operate using the included mains adaptor or six AA batteries, while a headphone connection allows you to practise privately whenever you wish.

Who Is the Yamaha NP-35B For?

The Yamaha NP-35B is an excellent choice for beginners, students and developing piano players who want a wider keyboard range and a more piano-like playing experience than a conventional lightweight keyboard.

Its 76 Graded Soft Touch keys make it particularly appealing to musicians progressing from a 61-key instrument, while its compact dimensions and portable design suit homes where space is limited.

For players seeking a traditional fully weighted hammer-action keyboard, an 88-key Yamaha digital piano may be more appropriate.
