A Beautiful Grand Piano for Your Home

With its graceful curves, polished finish and traditional grand piano silhouette, the CLP-865GP is designed to become a centrepiece in your home.

Its beautifully proportioned cabinet brings the elegance of an acoustic grand into a more manageable space, while the grand-style lid can be opened to enhance its traditional appearance.

The integrated music rest provides generous space for sheet music, while the discreet LCD display and intuitive controls give you convenient access to the piano's digital features.

In Polished White, the CLP-865GP offers a particularly striking appearance, perfectly suited to contemporary interiors, elegant living rooms and dedicated music spaces.

An Expressive GrandTouch-S Keyboard

At the heart of the CLP-865GP is Yamaha's 88-note GrandTouch-S keyboard, designed to recreate the responsive feel and control of an acoustic grand piano.

Synthetic ebony and ivory keytops provide a comfortable playing surface, while escapement simulation adds another layer of realism to the keyboard action.

Whether you're developing your technique, preparing examination pieces or enjoying more advanced repertoire, the GrandTouch-S keyboard provides the control needed for expressive playing.

The GrandTouch pedal system complements the keyboard with a natural sense of resistance, while half-pedalling support allows greater control over sustain and musical phrasing.

The Sound of Two Legendary Concert Grands

The CLP-865GP features meticulously sampled sounds from two of the world's most celebrated concert grand pianos.

The Yamaha CFX delivers a powerful, expressive concert grand sound, renowned for its clarity, brilliance and dynamic range.

The Bösendorfer Imperial offers a contrasting tonal character, with the warmth and richness associated with the celebrated Viennese piano maker.

Together, these voices allow you to explore different musical styles and interpretations, from delicate classical passages to powerful contemporary performances.

The instrument also includes two fortepiano voices, offering an opportunity to explore the character of earlier keyboard instruments.

Grand Expression Modeling and Natural Resonance

An acoustic grand piano responds to far more than simply how hard a key is pressed.

Yamaha's Grand Expression Modeling reproduces subtle tonal changes influenced by the speed and intensity of your playing, helping you shape phrases with greater musical expression.

Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) recreates the complex sympathetic vibrations of an acoustic piano, including interactions between strings, the soundboard and the pedals.

The result is a more natural and responsive playing experience, with a richness of sound that develops as you play.

Powerful, Immersive Sound

The CLP-865GP features a sophisticated two-way speaker system with amplification rated at (45 W + 35 W) × 2.

Its combination of 16 cm speakers with diffusers and 5 cm speakers produces a clear, detailed sound with impressive depth.

From quiet practice sessions to performances for family and friends, the CLP-865GP delivers an engaging sound that complements its grand piano appearance.

A Beautiful Playing Experience with Headphones

For quieter practice, the CLP-865GP offers Yamaha's binaural sampling technology for the CFX and Bösendorfer piano voices.

This technology creates a more natural sense of space when playing through headphones, helping the sound feel as though it is coming from the piano rather than directly into your ears.

With two headphone sockets, the CLP-865GP is also ideal for shared practice and lessons.

Modern Features for Everyday Playing

Alongside its traditional piano design, the CLP-865GP includes a range of convenient digital features.

Bluetooth Audio lets you stream music through the piano's speaker system, making it easy to listen to favourite recordings or play along with backing tracks.

Bluetooth MIDI, where supported, offers additional connectivity with compatible devices and music applications.

The piano also provides 20 rhythm accompaniments, Dual, Split and Duo keyboard modes, a metronome and recording facilities.

Record your performances as MIDI or audio, revisit your playing and share your progress with family, friends or your teacher.

Learn, Explore and Create with Yamaha Smart Pianist

The CLP-865GP is compatible with Yamaha's free Smart Pianist app, providing an intuitive way to access instrument settings and explore its features.

The piano includes 50 classical pieces and 303 lesson songs, alongside voice demonstrations, offering plenty of material for practice and musical discovery.

Smart Pianist also provides useful learning and score-related features, making it a valuable companion for developing pianists.
