Description

The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-825 is the starting point of Yamaha's premium CLP-800 Series, combining an expressive weighted keyboard with the sound and resonance technologies developed to recreate the experience of playing an acoustic grand piano.

At its heart is Yamaha's GrandTouch-S keyboard with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops and escapement, paired with the new GrandTouch pedal system. Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano voices provide two distinctly different piano characters, while Grand Expression Modeling and Virtual Resonance Modeling respond to the nuances of your playing.

Finished here in classic Black, the CLP-825 is an excellent choice for the home pianist looking for an elegant cabinet instrument with authentic piano credentials, modern connectivity and the quality associated with Yamaha Clavinova.

Who Is This For?

The CLP-825 is ideal for beginners, progressing players and experienced pianists who want the appearance and convenience of a cabinet digital piano without losing the responsive feel and tonal character that make piano practice enjoyable.

It's particularly well suited to family homes, students working through graded repertoire and acoustic piano players looking for a digital instrument for quieter practice.

GrandTouch-S Keyboard

The CLP-825 features Yamaha's GrandTouch-S keyboard with 88 weighted keys, synthetic ebony and ivory keytops and escapement.

For the CLP-800 generation, Yamaha refined the internal action and response to bring the playing experience closer to that of a grand piano. The result is an expressive keyboard that gives the player control from delicate passages through to more powerful playing.

Two World-Class Concert Grand Pianos

At the centre of the CLP-825 are the sounds of two celebrated concert grand pianos.

The Yamaha CFX delivers the clarity, power and expressive range of Yamaha's flagship concert grand, while the Bösendorfer Imperial offers a distinctly different, rich Viennese character.

Rather than simply providing a large collection of sounds, the CLP-825 concentrates on giving the pianist high-quality core piano voices that reward expressive playing.

Grand Expression Modeling & Virtual Resonance Modeling

Grand Expression Modeling responds to differences in how the keys are played and released, allowing subtle changes in technique to influence the resulting tone.

Virtual Resonance Modeling recreates the sympathetic interaction between strings, soundboard and the other resonating components of an acoustic piano. Together, these technologies help the CLP-825 feel more responsive and organic than a conventional sampled digital piano.

GrandTouch Pedals

The three-pedal GrandTouch system provides damper, sostenuto and soft pedals, with half-pedal functionality on the damper.

Yamaha has designed the pedal system to recreate more closely the resistance and movement experienced when using the pedals of a grand piano, giving the player greater control and a more natural connection with the instrument.

Immersive Piano Sound

A 20W × 2 amplifier system drives two 12cm speakers with diffusers, producing a clear and balanced sound designed specifically for the CLP-825 cabinet.

Intelligent Acoustic Control helps maintain tonal balance at lower listening levels, making the CLP-825 equally useful for daytime playing and quieter evening practice.

Headphone Playing with CFX Binaural Sampling

For private practice, Yamaha's CFX binaural sampling is designed to create a more natural listening experience through headphones.

The sound is captured to reproduce the spatial impression a pianist experiences when sitting at a grand piano, helping headphone practice feel less confined and more immersive.

Two headphone connections also allow teacher and student, or two players, to listen simultaneously.

Bluetooth & Smart Pianist

Bluetooth Audio lets you stream music through the CLP-825's speaker system, making it easy to listen to music or play along with favourite tracks.

Bluetooth MIDI and Yamaha's Smart Pianist app add another layer of control and learning functionality, while USB connectivity provides integration with compatible computers and devices.

Practice & Recording

The CLP-825 includes a useful selection of built-in features for lessons and everyday practice.

These include:

• 10 Voice Demo Songs
• 50 Classical Music Masterpieces
• 303 Lesson Songs
• Metronome
• Transpose
• Dual mode
• Duo mode
• 2-track MIDI recording

Whether you're learning independently, working with a teacher or simply returning to the piano, these features give you useful tools without distracting from the CLP-825's core piano experience.
