Description

The PRS SE NF 53 brings vintage-inspired electric guitar character together with the distinctive design and versatility of PRS. Finished in striking White Doghair, this modern interpretation of a classic formula combines a swamp ash body, bolt-on maple neck and PRS Narrowfield DD “S” pickups for a lively, articulate sound with plenty of personality.

Built around a 25.5-inch scale length and 22-fret maple fingerboard, the SE NF 53 offers a responsive playing feel, with the snap and definition associated with traditional bolt-on electric guitars. Its steel plate-style bridge with brass barrel saddles adds to the instrument's resonance and focused attack.

The Narrowfield DD “S” pickups are a defining feature, delivering the clarity and twang players expect from this style of guitar while retaining the power and hum-cancelling performance of a humbucker design.

Who Is This For?

The PRS SE NF 53 is an excellent choice for guitarists who enjoy the snap, clarity and expressive response of vintage-inspired electric guitars but want something with a distinctly PRS character.

Its swamp ash body, longer scale length and steel plate bridge make it particularly appealing for country, blues, roots, indie and classic rock playing.

The Narrowfield pickups also offer plenty of power for more driven sounds, making this a versatile instrument for players who move between clean, edge-of-breakup and higher-gain tones.

Whether you're exploring a new style of electric guitar or looking for a reliable instrument for rehearsals, recording and performance, the SE NF 53 offers a compelling alternative to more traditional designs.

Swamp Ash Body and Distinctive White Doghair Finish

The SE NF 53 features a solid swamp ash body, selected for its lively response and articulate tonal character.

Its flat-top construction takes inspiration from classic bolt-on guitar designs, while the White Doghair finish gives the instrument a distinctive appearance that highlights the character of the wood.

The combination of traditional styling and PRS detailing makes the NF 53 immediately recognisable without losing its vintage-inspired appeal.

Bolt-On Maple Neck and Classic Playing Feel

The SE NF 53 uses a bolt-on maple neck with a dedicated NF 53 profile, designed to complement the instrument's traditional playing character.

Its 25.5-inch scale length provides a responsive feel with clear string definition, while the 22-fret maple fingerboard and 10-inch radius offer a comfortable balance for chord work, expressive bends and lead playing.

PRS bird inlays add a familiar finishing touch to this otherwise vintage-inspired design.

PRS Narrowfield DD “S” Pickups — Clarity Without the Hum

At the heart of the SE NF 53 are two PRS Narrowfield DD “S” pickups.

DD stands for Deep Dish, referring to the taller bobbin construction that allows additional windings, alongside extra metal components positioned between the magnets.

This design produces a focused, powerful sound with articulate bass, musical highs and the characteristic twang associated with traditional single-coil-style guitars — but with the hum-cancelling benefits of a humbucker.

The result is a pickup system that responds well to clean playing, overdriven amplifiers and higher-gain settings.

A three-way blade selector, master volume and tone control make it easy to access a useful range of sounds without complicated switching.

Steel Plate Bridge with Brass Barrel Saddles

The PRS steel plate-style bridge is an important part of the SE NF 53's distinctive character.

Its steel construction contributes to the instrument's lively attack, while brass barrel saddles are designed to enhance sustain and resonance.

The fixed-bridge layout provides a straightforward playing platform for guitarists who value stable tuning and uncomplicated maintenance.

PRS Hardware and Everyday Reliability

PRS-designed tuners with Wing Buttons provide precise tuning adjustment while keeping unnecessary weight to a minimum.

Combined with the steel plate bridge, PRS nut and nickel hardware, they complete an instrument designed for dependable everyday performance.

A PRS gig bag is included for convenient transport and storage.
