Design

Featuring clean, minimalist lines that look beautiful from any angle, the design reflects the traditional aesthetics and quality of an acoustic piano, complete with an integrated stand and pedals. The instrument is available in three colour variations—Harmonious Mustard, black, and white—each designed to blend seamlessly into any interior style, with the Harmonious Mustard finish offering a high-quality polished piano lustre. A wood-grain finished stand complements the piano’s lines, while colour-matched speaker fabric, pedal unit, metal frame, and included piano cover ensure a cohesive appearance throughout. Additional design details include a transparent acrylic music stand, a flat top panel with an LED touch ring, touch-sensitive buttons, and a backlit LCD display. Despite its refined presence, the piano maintains a space-saving form with a slim front-to-back depth of just 242 mm.

Sound & Playability

Powered by Casio’s Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source, the instrument delivers an exceptionally wide range of detailed and expressive tones, including grand piano sounds that capture the rich resonances of an acoustic instrument. The complex overtones produced by all 88 keys, along with the resulting body resonances, are faithfully reproduced to create a vivid and natural piano tone that subtly evolves over time and responds to every nuance of the player’s touch—from the softest pianissimo to powerful, dynamic performances. Open String Resonance and Aliquot Resonance modelling further enhance realism by simulating sympathetic string vibrations for added depth and richness.

Casio’s new Spatial Sound System technology features four independently driven full-range speakers housed in a rigid wood/resin composite structure, delivering a powerful, room-filling sound. Side Enhancing Diffusers on the outer speakers broaden the sound field, while the Surround function creates an immersive listening experience by optimising each speaker’s output for spatial realism. The Hall Simulator/Reverb recreates the acoustics of concert halls and performance venues, and the Piano Position function automatically adjusts sound characteristics based on where the piano is placed. Completing the experience is a versatile library of 400 built-in tones, including acoustic and electric pianos, organs, strings, and a curated selection of signature sounds inspired by well-known hit songs.

Keyboard 

The Smart Hybrid Hammer Action Keyboard delivers highly expressive playability, responding naturally from the softest touch to the most forceful keystrokes through a combination of an advanced physical keyboard mechanism and precise digital control technology. Like an acoustic grand piano, the weighted hammer action allows the keys to feel light and sensitive during soft passages while remaining solid and responsive under more powerful playing. The white keys are crafted from a high-quality spruce wood/resin composite material, finished to replicate the natural grain of ivory for an authentic feel and refined appearance, while the black keys feature a new matte finish that closely resembles ebony in both look and texture.

Further enhancing realism, 88-Key Digital Scaling technology individually controls the volume response of each key and varies touch weight across the keyboard, mirroring the behaviour of a grand piano. The ten-step Hammer Response setting lets players fine-tune the timing of sound in relation to how each key is struck and which register is being played, while three levels of Key Off Response allow adjustment of how quickly notes decay after release, enabling a more legato or staccato feel to suit the music. The Key Off Simulator further refines this behaviour by controlling sound fade based on key release speed, capturing the subtle nuances of expression that define the playing experience of the PX-S7000.

Pedals

The high-quality tactile pedal system closely replicates the feel of an acoustic grand piano, providing a natural and responsive playing experience. The continuously variable damper pedal allows for precise control over sustain, while the soft pedal features a two-level adjustment, enabling expressive nuance and dynamic flexibility to suit a wide range of musical styles.

Real Time Control

Two assignable EX buttons provide real-time control, allowing players to switch settings instantly or access CASIO MUSIC SPACE app functions while performing. An assignable CONTROL button enables on-the-fly tone variation for greater expressive flexibility, while the Pitch Bend Wheel allows smooth raising or lowering of the pitch of sounding notes. For even more dynamic control, a commercially available expression pedal can be connected and assigned to tone parameters, enabling real-time adjustment during performance.

Experience

The built-in arpeggiator enables the performance of arpeggiated chords and musical phrases from held keys, with independent on/off control for each part when using Layer or Split modes. The Layer function allows two different tones to be combined across the entire keyboard, while the Split function divides the keyboard into upper and lower zones with separate tones assigned to each. A Duet function further enhances versatility by splitting the keyboard into two identical registers, ideal for teaching or collaborative playing. Registration memory lets you save and instantly recall complete snapshots of the piano’s current settings, including tones, layers, splits, and effects. Additional control is available through the Piano Remote Controller within the CASIO MUSIC SPACE app, which allows detailed adjustment of tone and effect parameters. A built-in metronome offers a wide variety of patterns, ranging from basic click and bell sounds to 20 different drum styles, with tempo adjustable either numerically in BPM or via traditional tempo markings such as Moderato.

Connecting a Microphone / Using Microphone Effects

A microphone can be connected via the standard phone MIC IN jack (TS phone), allowing vocals to be heard through the PX-S7000’s built-in speakers. The Hall Simulator/Reverb effect can be applied to seamlessly blend vocals with the digital piano sound. A total of 25 Microphone Effects are available to enhance, polish, and creatively shape your vocal performance.

Headphone Mode

Headphone Mode automatically optimises the sound for headphone listening, delivering a more natural and immersive experience that replicates the feel of sound coming from the piano’s speakers.

Audio Recorder

The Audio Recorder lets you capture your performances as standard WAV audio files, saved either to the instrument’s internal memory or to a commercially available USB flash drive for playback on a computer or other devices. DSP effects and microphone input—including Microphone Effects—are recorded exactly as heard.

MIDI Recorder

The MIDI Recorder allows you to record performances as MIDI song data, which can be played back directly on the digital piano—ideal for lessons and practice. Recordings can also be saved to a USB flash drive as standard MIDI files (SMF) for use with DAWs or other electronic musical instruments.

Wireless MIDI & Audio Adapter (WU-BT10)

By connecting the included Wireless MIDI & Audio Adapter (WU-BT10), you can stream music wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet through the PX-S7000 speaker system.
