A Powerful Introduction to the PSR-SX Series

The PSR-SX620 opens the door to Yamaha's acclaimed PSR-SX arranger workstation family, combining an extensive collection of high-quality instrument sounds with intelligent accompaniment and sophisticated performance features.

At its heart are 1,002 instrument Voices, 51 Drum/SFX Kits and 450 accompaniment Styles, backed by 128-note polyphony. Among these are 137 Super Articulation Voices, which reproduce many of the characteristic playing techniques and nuances of acoustic instruments for more expressive and convincing performances.

Whether you're playing at home, developing arrangements, accompanying a singer, rehearsing or performing live, the PSR-SX620 gives you an enormous musical palette to explore.

Expressive Sound & Real-Time Control

The PSR-SX620 is designed to make its extensive capabilities accessible while you're actually playing.

A joystick controller provides expressive pitch and modulation control, while two assignable Live Control knobs allow you to adjust selected parameters in real time. Yamaha has also redesigned the control panel to put commonly used functions within easy reach, helping you concentrate on the music rather than navigating menus.

450 Accompaniment Styles

With 450 built-in accompaniment Styles covering a broad range of genres, the PSR-SX620 can provide an entire backing band that responds to the chords you play.

Each Style offers intros, endings, fills and four Main Variations, allowing an arrangement to develop naturally throughout a performance. Four One Touch Settings per Style can instantly call up suitable Voice combinations, while Smart Chord makes sophisticated accompaniment accessible even to players with limited chord knowledge.

Chord Looper

Chord Looper lets you record a chord progression and have the PSR-SX620 repeat it automatically.

Once the progression is looping, your left hand is freed from continually playing the accompaniment chords, allowing you to concentrate on melodies, improvisation, full-keyboard playing or real-time control.

Up to eight chord sequences can be stored within each bank, making Chord Looper a particularly useful creative tool for live performance, practising, songwriting and developing arrangements.

Powerful Built-In Sound

The PSR-SX620 features a newly developed speaker system with two 12cm speakers powered by 15W + 15W amplification.

Yamaha's Internal BassPort design uses the keyboard's internal chamber and front-facing bass-reflex structure to enhance low-frequency response, helping the SX620 produce a fuller and more substantial sound from its relatively compact cabinet.

Dedicated left and right line outputs also allow the keyboard to be connected to external amplification, a PA system or recording equipment when required.

Microphone Connectivity

Connect a microphone directly to the PSR-SX620 and combine vocals with your keyboard performance.

Dedicated microphone processing includes Noise Gate, Compressor and 3-band EQ, giving singers useful control over their vocal sound directly from the instrument.

Together with its accompaniment features, internal speakers and dedicated outputs, this makes the PSR-SX620 equally at home as a self-contained home instrument or as part of a live performance setup.

Bluetooth Audio

Built-in Bluetooth Audio allows music to be streamed wirelessly from a compatible smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth device through the PSR-SX620's speaker system.

It's ideal for playing along with favourite tracks, learning songs, rehearsing or simply using the keyboard as a high-quality playback system while you practise.

Recording & Song Creation

The PSR-SX620 offers extensive recording and creation facilities for musicians who want to develop their own performances and arrangements.

MIDI recording supports up to 16 tracks, with Quick Recording, Multi Recording and Step Recording available. Stereo WAV audio recording is also supported, with up to 80 minutes of recording available per song.

Song Creator, Style Creator and Multi Pad Creator provide additional tools for building and customising your own musical material.

Expand Your PSR-SX620

Approximately 380MB of Expansion Voice memory allows additional Voices and Styles to be installed, giving you the ability to personalise the instrument around the music you play.

Yamaha's Expansion Explorer provides access to compatible expansion content from iOS, Android, Windows and Mac devices, allowing you to search, preview and manage additional content for your PSR-SX620.

MIDI Song to Style

Yamaha's MIDI Song to Style application provides another creative way to build personalised accompaniment.

Standard MIDI files can be converted into playable Styles incorporating elements such as intros, endings, Main sections and fills, allowing existing musical material to become part of an interactive arranger performance.

Who Is the PSR-SX620 For?

The Yamaha PSR-SX620 is an excellent choice for musicians ready to move beyond a conventional portable keyboard and into the creative possibilities of a genuine arranger workstation.

Its automatic accompaniment, Super Articulation Voices and Smart Chord system make it accessible to home players, while Chord Looper, real-time controls, microphone input, dedicated outputs, extensive recording facilities and expansion capabilities provide considerably more depth for experienced players, songwriters and performers.

It is particularly well suited to musicians who want one keyboard that can provide high-quality sounds, complete backing arrangements, recording and creative tools without immediately stepping up to one of the more advanced PSR-SX models.
