Description

The Roland F701 combines expressive piano performance with a beautifully slim cabinet designed for the modern home.

Finished in Light Oak, its understated design, rounded edges and compact 345 mm depth make it particularly appealing where a traditional upright-style digital piano might feel too imposing. Beneath that minimalist exterior is Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano technology, an 88-note PHA-4 Standard weighted keyboard and an integrated three-pedal system.

Bluetooth Audio and MIDI make it easy to combine the F701 with smartphones, tablets and learning resources, while Headphones 3D Ambience provides an immersive experience for quiet practice.

For beginners, returning players and established pianists looking for a stylish compact home instrument, the F701 offers a strong balance of piano feel, technology and contemporary design.

Who Is This For?

The Roland F701 is particularly well suited to beginners and returning players who want a proper home piano without a large traditional cabinet dominating the room.

Its PHA-4 Standard keyboard provides the weighted response needed for developing piano technique, while SuperNATURAL Piano technology gives players an expressive instrument that can continue to reward them as their playing progresses.

It's also a particularly attractive option for homes where appearance and space matter. At only 345 mm deep with the lid closed, the F701 provides an integrated 88-note piano, three-pedal system and speaker system within a remarkably compact footprint.

SuperNATURAL Piano Sound

Roland's SuperNATURAL Piano technology gives the F701 a responsive and expressive character across the keyboard.

From quieter playing through to more powerful passages, the sound responds dynamically to changes in touch rather than simply stepping between fixed tonal levels.

With 256-note polyphony and 324 onboard tones, there's also plenty to explore beyond its core acoustic piano sounds.

PHA-4 Standard Weighted Keyboard

The F701 uses Roland's 88-note PHA-4 Standard keyboard with escapement and Ivory Feel surfaces.

Its progressive hammer action is designed to recreate the weighted response of an acoustic piano, while extensive Key Touch and Hammer Response adjustments allow the instrument's response to be tailored to the individual player.

Combined with the F701's integrated damper, soft and sostenuto pedals, it provides the essential playing characteristics needed for developing authentic piano technique.

Designed for the Modern Home

One of the F701's biggest attractions is its cabinet.

At just 345 mm deep with the lid closed, the piano has a considerably smaller footprint than many traditional cabinet instruments. Rounded edges, a clean control layout and an integrated folding key cover give it a simple contemporary appearance.

Even the rear connections have been positioned with presentation in mind, helping the F701 look tidy whether it's positioned against a wall or somewhere more visible within the room.

The Light Oak finish with its simulated wood grain gives this version a softer, natural appearance that's particularly well suited to lighter and contemporary interiors.

Bluetooth, Apps & Learning

Bluetooth Audio allows music from a compatible smartphone or tablet to play through the F701's speaker system, making it easy to practise alongside favourite songs, backing tracks and online lessons.

Bluetooth MIDI provides wireless communication with compatible learning and music applications.

The F701 also works with the Roland Piano App, providing additional practice and learning tools, while Piano Designer allows compatible piano characteristics to be adjusted in greater detail.

Skoove Online Piano Lessons

Bluetooth MIDI also makes the F701 an excellent partner for online learning platforms such as Skoove.

Skoove provides interactive piano lessons for different playing levels, making it useful for complete beginners, returning players or anyone wanting some additional structure and motivation between lessons.

Built-In Practice Tools

There are 377 internal songs covering listening, ensemble, entertainment and structured lesson material.

A built-in metronome, TwinPiano, Split and Dual modes add further flexibility, while recording facilities allow performances to be captured and played back for evaluation.

TwinPiano is particularly useful for teaching, dividing the keyboard into two matching pitch ranges so teacher and student can play alongside one another.

Immersive Headphone Practice

The F701's twin 12 cm speakers provide 12 W + 12 W of amplification for everyday home playing.

When quieter practice is needed, Roland's Headphones 3D Ambience technology creates a more spacious listening experience through headphones, designed to make the sound feel less confined inside the headphones themselves.

Two headphone connections also make side-by-side teacher and student practice straightforward.
